Korean Beef Bowl
Author: Aliesha @ Feathers in Our Nest
Recipe type: Main Dish
Cuisine: Asian
- ⅓ cup pure maple syrup (I've also used sucanat successfully)
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp. toasted sesame oil (good price at Trader Joe's)
- ¼-1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
- ¼ tsp. ground ginger
- 1 lb. ground beef or turkey
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 4 green onions, finely sliced
- hot cooked brown or white rice
- (Before you start the recipe, start cooking your rice.)
- In a glass measuring cup, whisk together maple syrup, soy sauce, toasted sesame oil, crushed red pepper flakes, and ground ginger.
- Brown beef over medium heat. When no longer pink, drain excess grease and return beef to pan.
- Add garlic and cook 30-60 seconds until fragrant. Pour in sauce and half of the green onions.
- Bring to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Serve over hot cooked rice and garnish with remaining green onions.
- Enjoy!
