This past Sunday our church family threw a baby shower for us! They blessed us with so many wonderful gifts, and we are very grateful! Andrea took all of these beautiful pictures (thank you!), so enjoy her artistic handiwork. My mom came down this weekend and was at the shower, which was really special. We are really feeling ready for our baby girl now!I’m hoping to take and post pictures of our nursery really soon, since it’s almost ready!
Week Thirty-Six
Baby girl is head-down!! An examination and an ultrasound performed by my midwife today confirmed that our baby girl has turned head-down in preparation for meeting the world. We are thankful!

In one more week, we will have reached the “safe zone” where our baby will be fully developed.
I’m feeling pretty good lately, aside from being hot (which I would be even if not pregnant, as it has been in the 100’s down here this week) and having some swelling in my legs, ankles, and feet (you can see that a little bit in the picture). I’m sleeping well at night and feeling good during the day. I’m still feeling lots of movements (kicks and punches) from our little girlie, especially right after a meal.
We’re going to a childbirthing class tomorrow and we’re looking forward to learning lots.
Sorry that I haven’t posted on the blog much this week… it’s been pretty crazy around here with the car situation, hosting a youth party, and preparing for my mom and brother coming this weekend!
Week Thirty-Five
We just got back from taking our youth group to camp this week, so I’m using a photo we snapped earlier today at camp! I didn’t feel like taking another one…haha. Click here to see last week’s photo.
So I did a LOT of walking at camp this week, and I’m feeling pretty low on energy tonight. I know all the walking was good, though! My feet and ankles swelled up like balloons on the first day of camp, which was awkward and somewhat painful as well. Andrea told me that drinking tea would help, so I tried to do that every day this week. I also rested as much as possible and avoided things that were high in sodium. I wasn’t paying attention on Tuesday and ate stir-fry (very high in sodium), and … POW! my feet swelled up again. The rest of the week I was more conscious of what I was eating and had much less trouble with the swelling.
You can start praying now that Baby Girl decides to move head-down, since the doctors really like to see them do that by week 36 (just one more week!). She is still lying either with her head directly up or over to one side or the other. She is still very active and her kicks are getting stronger each day!
Thank you for continuing to pray for our pregnancy… and thank you also for all the comments on my hospital bag posts!
