Yesterday Tad and I spent a good bit of time working on our bedroom! We put together two nightstands (from Ikea!), set up lamps (I got these last summer), put winter clothes in storage, straightened, took down old curtains, put up new rods and curtains, and rearranged a few things! We love the new look. Love these lamps… and the new nightstands! Can you guess whose side of the bed this is? (Hint: the book titles are The Sword and Eragon.)
The old curtains were probably almost as old as the house! We love our new Ikea Vivan curtains (so much that we bought them for every room of the house!). I still need to get the wrinkles out and hem them, but I was excited to hang them up and see how they looked!
This old trunk houses our winter bed linens.
Our wicker laundry hamper lives in the corner.

House Tour: The Other Side of the Kitchen
Curious what the other side of our kitchen looks like? I’ll be honest, back when these photos were taken, this side of the kitchen was a total disaster! Boxes and “stuff” everywhere with no organization whatsoever! But when we came across this bamboo baker’s rack at Aldi (marked down to $22), we knew we had found the solution to our mess. I put the rack together on Monday evening while Tad was making a table. We’re still trying to decide how we’re going to use all the new-found space, but for now at least our beautiful toaster oven has a home!
Plenty of room for other kitchen wares. Ideally, we are going to paint all the paneling and wood trim in our kitchen eventually, so I think the bamboo will look much better when contrasted with crisp white walls behind it!
I love how you can see my (slightly distorted) baby bump in the reflection on the toaster oven! Drawers contain picnic silverware and extra sponges at the moment.
And, lastly, a picture of our…*drumroll please* newly organized broom closet!
So, that’s what I’ve been working on lately.

Table Update
As I announced Monday evening, Tad has been working on making an 8-foot-long dining room table for us!
It is coming along beautifully! He has finished the entire top and is getting ready to attach the legs. Then, all that remains is sanding and painting. We are going to paint it with white semi-gloss paint. I can’t wait to share with you all the finished product! I’m so proud of my hubby.
