I’m looking for some healthy breakfast bread recipes. I would love to make breakfast muffins or small loaves to keep in the freezer and defrost for breakfasts. I’m looking for healthy recipes that include whole wheat flour and/or oatmeal and that are sweet but not too sweet! I am hoping to make some of these recipes on my next freezer cooking day. Please flood me with bread and muffin recipes to try!
Freezer Cooking Day (March): The Results
After cooking since 9:00AM, I’m pretty much pooped! But I feel like I have lots to show for my efforts. Here are the results of my first freezer cooking day.
Dinners
1 3 lb. Coffee Roast (at least 2 meals, one of which will be dinner tonight!)
2 Italian Meatloaves (4 meals)
4 bags of Taco Meat (4 meals)
10 Hamburger Patties (5 meals)
Crock Pot Italian Chicken (4 meals)
5 bags of Spaghetti Sauce (5 meals plus plenty of leftovers!)
30 Italian Meatballs (3 meals… can go with spaghetti sauce or served in a different way)
3 Whole Wheat Pizza Crust Mixes (3 meals)
Sides
5 bags of Oven Fries (5 meals… will go with hamburgers)
1 Angel Rolls Mix (will make about 40 rolls)
Snacks
3 Garlic Soft Pretzels Mixes (will make a total of 18 soft pretzels… I’m going to try these later this week!)
Breakfast
(unplanned) 1/2 dozen Whole Grain Blueberry Muffins and 1/2 dozen Whole Grain Apple Cinnamon Muffins (3 breakfasts)
Links to recipes can be found in this post.
In all, I made about 27 dinners (or parts of dinners) today… in less than 6 hours! All my dishes are washed and the kitchen is clean!
Off to take a nap before dinner (mmmm….pot roast!).
The Beginning of Freezer Cooking Day
Here I go! I might not be posting again until I finish… but I promise to post pictures and tell how everything went. Have a great day! Pray that the Lord gives me grace as I cook and serve my family in this way.
Update: I’ll post updates throughout the day on twitter.
