Last week I posted about Swagbucks, and I just wanted to give a quick update. I just earned my first $5 Amazon.com gift card simply by using Swagbucks to search online! I’ve been using it for less than two weeks, and it’s already paying off. What are YOU waiting for? Click here to learn more and to sign up!
Ebates and Swagbucks will save you money!
When I first heard about ebates, I was skeptical. I knew very little about the program, but I thought that it seemed incredulous that I could earn cash back on online purchases. However, when my sister-in-law Angela told me about it this weekend, I decided to give it a try.
Ebates is a site that you use to shop through in order to earn actual cash back when you purchase things online. I was amazed at the number of stores that are available, as well as the high percentage of cash back from some of the stores. Angela told me I would get $5 just for joining, so I figured I had nothing to lose! I made my first purchase (from Target) this week, and through using ebates I earned 3% cash back. That doesn’t sound like a lot, but it’s more than I would have gotten without using ebates! Just remember that the $1.50 you save here and the $3 you save there will quickly add up!
Here are a just a few of the stores that ebates gives cash back for:
– AVON (5%)
– Barnes and Noble (4%)
– BedandBreakfast.com (5%)
– Books a Million (3%)
– Canon (3.5%)
– Diapers.com (1%-4%)
– ebay (1%-3%)
– e.l.f. Cosmetics (4%)
– Home Depot (5%)
– Inkgrabber (12.5%)
– iTunes (3%)
– JC Penney (3%)
– Kmart (4%)
– Kohl’s (2%)
– LEGO (3%)
– Motherhood Maternity (5%)
– Old Navy (2%)
– Ritz Camera (3%)
– Sam’s Club (1%)
– Sears (4%)
– Shutterfly (10%)
– Snapfish (9.5%)
– Target (3%)
– Vistaprint (5%)
– Walmart (1%)
– and MANY more!!
Basically, if you shop online AT ALL, signing up for ebates will be worth it for you! I really wish I had known about it years ago. Click here to learn more and get $5 for signing up!
Another site I wanted to share is Swagbucks. This site gives you “bucks” (points) primarily for using their search engine to search the web. (You can also earn through taking daily polls, referring friends, and entering special codes.) Once you accumulate enough points, you can redeem them for prizes, such as amazon.com gift cards. I just started using Swagbucks this week, but I have found it to be really easy to earn bucks since I am just getting “rewarded” for what I already do: search the internet. Have any of you used ebates or Swagbucks before? What have your experiences been like?

Ikea Shopping Trip
I got to go to Ikea for the first time this weekend! Tad and I were going up to VA to see his family this weekend anyway, so we decided to come up a night early so we could head to the Woodbridge Ikea on Friday! We (the girls) were there from 12:00 noon until 6:00PM! It was quite the adventure. (Oh, and after Ikea, we went to Potomac Mills and walked around for another couple of hours! We were pooped!)
We found all kinds of bargains! Tad’s mom found some bookshelves to use in her library (or, as it is also called, “La Salon de la Granmomma”). Stephanie bought some dressers for her bedroom.
Angela and I split a cart, so half of those goodies are mine. She found a pretty lampshade and matching pillow!
Tad and his dad came up to pick everything up for us.
We stuffed the Expedition!
It was so much fun to have a Girls Day! We wish we could be closer to all of our family, so we cherish times like these.
As I get things set up in our home, I will start posting pictures of our many Ikea finds!
