In just one more month, Cordelia will celebrate her first birthday!
Here are some milestones for month eleven.
-getting close to walking, but not quite there yet
-still just has two teeth on the bottom
-loves to eat chicken, beef, beans, broccoli, eggs, sweet potatoes, potatoes, cheese, guacamole, green beans, blackberries, and yogurt
-still nurses a lot each day (around 8 times), but I’m working to space it out more (to 5 or 6 times)
-sleeps 7:30pm-7:30am most nights, plus another hour or two after that
-takes a short morning nap (about an hour) and a longer afternoon nap (about two hours)
-has a favorite stuffed animal: cuddly bear
-is called by many nicknames: CC, Delia, lil’ muffin, cupcake, and cutie pie
-gets tackled by her big sister at least 7 times a day
-doesn’t have a lot of hair, but we’ve managed to put a little bow in it a couple of times π
-smiles and giggles lots!
We are so blessed by our beautiful, happy baby girl!

We are in the middle of replumbing our entire house (and by “we,” I mean Tad and a heroic friend from church). We have not had consistent hot water at our house in over a year (long story!), and we’ve had multiple leaks under our house since this past spring. Some very generous family members have given us money for replumbing, so we’ve been working on that for the past week. We had a few late nights (up until 2 a few times) and a lot of unexpected problems, but God is good and we are on our way to having hot running water again!!
Both the girls continue to be high-energy π and they keep me quite busy throughout the day. Vera has a constant stream of chatter and questions (and she is quite hilarious much of the time). She still loves reading books, and I can read to her for 30-45 minutes before she’s ready for a new activity. Cordelia is “walking” around furniture, and every now and then she is brave enough to let go and stand on her own for a couple seconds. Cordelia loves stuffed animals as well as any toys that play music.
We are planning Cordelia’s first birthday party next month, so I’ve been pinning some ideas for that.
I’m trying to keep up with cooking healthy meals for our family. We feel so much better when we eat healthy food! Since the beginning of January, we have been “eating clean” again (though we mostly did in December) and avoiding sugar (even most natural sweeteners). I’ve been using my crockpot (recipes from Mama and Baby Love’s cookbook) some to save on dishes.
I got a blender before Christmas, so we’ve been enjoying some tasty smoothies made with it.
I am also busy working on promotional materials for a homeschooling conference my mom is speaking at in Richmond (at Tad’s home church) in the spring. I love doing graphic design like this… it’s such a fun creative outlet for me!
The weather here has warmed up a bit so we’ve been taking some family walks. The girls love getting outside and visiting all the neighborhood doggies.
We’re starting a new ladies’ Bible study this Tuesday on 1 & 2 Peter. I’m really excited about it!
I think that brings you up to speed on our lives! So what’s new with you?
