I didn’t do as well with my February reading as with January! Here is what I did read this month:
Things We Wish We’d Known (50 Veteran Homeschoolers Share) compiled and edited by Bill & Diana Waring
I started this in January, but I finished it the beginning of this month. It is AWESOME! I haven’t read a lot of books on homeschooling (terrible, I know…), but this is my favorite currently. If you are thinking about homeschooling or are currently homeschooling, you have to read this one. It is the equivalent of sitting down for coffee with 50 veteran homeschooling families and getting to ask them their one piece of advice to you as you homeschool. It is a fast, easy read, but it is packed with so much truth and wisdom!
The Ministry of Motherhood by Sally Clarkson
This is a great book on ministering to your children and training them in the ways of the Lord. Examining how Jesus trained His disciples, Clarkson lists ways in which we can emulate Jesus as we disciple and minister to our children. This was a very helpful book.
Currently, I am reading:
Lies Women Believe and the Truth that Sets Them Free by Nancy Leigh DeMoss (re-read; studying all year in our women’s Bible study; I’m three chapters in)
Don’t Waste Your Life (studying for 10ish weeks in our seniors/college students Bible study; I’m four chapters in)
Choosing Gratitude by Nancy Leigh DeMoss (I’m about half-way through this one)
So what are you reading?
I’d love to read that first one;) There is always room to grow as a homeschool mom:) And you’re totally not terrible…. while you DO teach your children from birth… you still have a ways “schooling” wise!
And I”m a HUGE Sally Clarkson fan… hoping to attend one of her workshops when I don’t have nursing babies;)
I just realized how slack I’ve been at reading in February. I have about two chapters left in The Excellant Wife, but if I’m remembering correctly, that’s all I read this month. I’ve already planned to finish that up tomorrow and then I can move on in my list!
I have a couple of close friends who are pregnant and I was thinking of buying them a copy of The Ministry of Motherhood. Would you suggest that book during pregnancy? I really want a book that stresses the blessing and privlege of motherhood and and talks about the importance of godly mothers.
Hope you’re having a good week!
