Here’s a great Date Night idea… fondue for two! (I know… we’re really bringing back the ’70’s here!)
Let’s be honest… the real reason people go to the Melting Pot is for the amazing dessert fondue! We discovered we can make and enjoy our own chocolate fondue in the comfort of our own home. We decided that this will be a wonderful “Daddy and Mommy time” in the future after our children have gone to bed!
You can find chocolate fondue recipes in cookbooks and all over the internet, but here is the one we used last night.Fondue for Two
5 to 6 oz. dark chocolate, broken into small pieces
1/4 cup milk
1/2 tsp. butter
5 large marshmallows
Place chocolate and milk in fondue pot. Turn temperature dial to warm. Stirring constantly, add butter and marshmallows until melted.
While one spouse is making the fondue, the other spouse can be getting the “dippers” ready. Ideas include strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, bananas, marshmallows, cubed pound cake, graham crackers, tiny rice krispy treats, brownie bites, fancy cookies, and mini cheesecakes.
Dip in and enjoy!Linked to:

Ooooh that looks sooo yummy!! I have always loved Fondue!! π
I stumbled across your sweet blog recently, and I must say that fondue looks delicious! What a lovely idea.
That looks great! I tried a chocolate fondue recipe last week with avocado in it. It was really good and everyone (including my picky boy) loved it!
Chocolate fondue is really my all time favorite dessert. Not only does it taste really good, but it also looks really classy and elegant. And of course, it’s very romantic, too! I love making this for my husband, we really make up a good team, I prepare the chocolate fondue while he sends the kids early to bed, lol!
Oh my deliciousness! What a great idea! Thanks for posting this in the Great Dates section too…
Mmm, looks delicious. We got a fondue pot as a wedding gift, and have had a lot of fun with it. This reminded that I should get it out again soon.
Hi Aliesha, it’s Becca from 26-1! I tried out the recipe last night and it was delicious. The dark chocolate was a little strong for me, but my husband looooved it. I used 4 oz of Hershey’s special dark and 2 oz of Nestle’s dark baking chocolate π
Hi Becca,
Thanks for stopping by! You can also try this same recipe using milk chocolate. We’re both just total dark chocolate lovers! Hope you’re doing well.
