A few weeks ago I whipped up this coconut sugar scrub to use on my face! In the winter time I love adding extra moisture to my skin, and this recipe fits the bill. It’s not edible, but your skin will enjoy its deliciousness! Use this scrub on your face whenever you need a good exfoliation (I use it every week), or use it on your body in the shower. It’s great for smoothing rough feet as well!
I like to rub about a teaspoon of scrub onto my face and massage it in. I then rinse it off with warm water and enjoy my super-smooth skin! If your skin is oily or prone to breakouts, follow with your normal cleansing regimen in about an hour. If you have dry skin, just let it soak up the moisture!
- ⅔ cup organic evaporated cane juice (or white sugar)
- ⅔ cup organic virgin coconut oil
- 1 tsp. Vitamin E oil
- If coconut oil is not liquid at room temperature, melt it and allow it to cool, but not harden.
- Combine evaporated cane juice (or sugar), coconut oil, and Vitamin E oil in a bowl.
- Add more sugar if it's too soft, and more coconut oil if it's too dry!
- You can use the scrub right away - just rub 1 tsp. scrub onto your face and then rinse off (or use it on your body or feet).
- Store in an airtight container.
Hope you enjoy it!

Just what my poor, cracked and dry hands need this time of year! This must really be handy with all the handwashing us mama’s do with kiddos 🙂 Thanks Aleisha

Oh I am so going to make some of this for my feet! They get so rough in the winter I feel like! I bet this smells great, too.
You’ll love it! It smells sweet and coconutty!
I just made this and it looks nothing like the picture … equal parts oil and sugar? … it’s very watery (but I guess it will harden …?)
If your coconut oil was hot or very warm, it may have melted the sugar. Add more sugar until it reaches a wet sand texture.
