We started this blog when we got married, so this little blog is now five years old!
A whole lot has happened in five years! When I read some of the early posts, I realize I had NO IDEA how quickly five years would go. There were certainly seasons that went by at a rate that was painfully slow, but it’s still surprising to me to realize that I’ve been both married and blogging for five years!
Some days I can feel like few people are reading any more, but my stats say otherwise. I now have more readers than I imagined I ever would, and the blog is still growing every day! Some of you must just be comment-shy!
One thing I would absolutely love is if you would just leave a comment and tell me how long you’ve been reading Feathers in Our Nest, and also, share a little bit about yourself! Let’s get to know each other better. I always read every single comment and it is SO FUN to connect with readers. I also love getting emails!
Thank you for being a community to me during the times I didn’t have one, and a source of encouragement to our family through many different circumstances!
Here’s to many more years of blogging ahead!

Happy anniversary and blogiversary! I found your blog when I was pregnant with our first daughter about 3 years ago. I enjoyed reading your archives and getting to know you. Now I have two little girls (2.5 and 5 months) and I enjoy reading your blog as a fellow sister in Christ with a busy little family!
Aliesha Caldwell says
Thanks so much for introducing yourself, Allison! You’re at a very busy season too!

I cannot remember how i first found your blog but I have been reading since just before you had Vera. I love the way your posts are both challenging and encouraging: your honesty is wonderful! I also enjoy your cooking/recipe posts. Congrats on 5 years π
Aliesha Caldwell says
Thank you so much! I try really hard to find the balance between challenging and encouraging… because those are the kinds of blogs I like to read too!

Your blog was one of the first blogs I ever read. I think I found you through a link-up or something and followed you ever since. I found you and Drea around the same time. I started blogging in January of 2011, so I bet I found you shortly before that!
Aliesha Caldwell says
So fun! Glad we’ve been on this blogging journey together for so long!
Crystal says
Hi Aliesha! I’ve been reading your blog for about 4 years, maybe longer? I’ve been encouraged and blessed by it and especially love your great recipes! I’d really love to reconnect sometime! Maybe when you’re up in our area we could try to arrange a play date. My husband and I have been married 6 years now and we have 5 children, ages 5 and under! So life is never boring around here. π Your organization tips and ideas are inspiring for me as a busy mom seeking to thrive and not just survive. Keep up the good work!
Aliesha Caldwell says
Hi Crystal! I’d absolutely love to reconnect. You definitely are in a BUSY season with your little ones! Keep up the good work!

Hi Aliesha,
I’ve been reading your blog probably since you got married, not quite sure but I do remember when you were pregnant with your little Vera. I think I found you through Davene’s blog, and I’m not sure how I found hers ha! Must have been through my sister in law.
I’ve also been married for 5 years, we don’t have any children yet but we continue praying that the Lord will bless us with one soon.
I love reading your blog, even though I don’t comment often.
Aliesha Caldwell says
Happy five years to you as well! Just said a prayer for you and your hubby. <3

I’ve been reading your blog since the beginning :). I met you very briefly just before you got married, when my husband and I were visiting Drea and her family. I live in Canada with my husband and four kids. We just celebrated 11 years of marriage in July.
Aliesha Caldwell says
I’m glad we’ve been able to keep in touch through blogging, Stacey! Thanks for being one of my loyal readers since the beginning!

I believe I’ve been reading your blog since close to the beginning. My anniversary is the same as yours – October 17, 2009! Thanks for many years of great content!

Happy anniversary to you as well!

Found your blog through Andrea’s blog (found her through my college roommate). I’ve been reading for a few years. I love your blog because you post about so many different things π
Aliesha Caldwell says
Thanks, Marah! I sometimes wonder if my blog is too eclectic… it’s nice to hear you enjoy it!

Hi Aliesha,
I found your blog just a few weeks ago, and I absolutely love it! I went back and read many of your old posts. π I have a 3 year old girl and a newborn baby boy, so it’s very fun to read posts from someone in a similar season of life. Thanks for all your encouraging posts, great tips, and for being a beautiful example of a Christian wife and mother.
Aliesha Caldwell says
So nice to “meet” you, Ellen! π

I started reading it from the beginning. Since you were my RA at Liberty & had put a link up I checked it out. I’ve been reading your posts since then ( can’t believe it’s been 5 years!) And I’ve sent my mom over here to read it too π she’s actually made some of the recipes too & they were really good π
Aliesha Caldwell says
So sweet! π

I think I started reading your blog sometime during your first pregnancy, but I’m not sure how I originally found it! I am sure glad I did, though π It has been fun watching your family grow. I think my kids are right in between all of yours so Callyn falls between your two girls, then Colbie falls between CC and Jude…I think π I have always just felt like we have so much in common from cooking real food, to cloth diapering, to having husbands in ministry, to have two girls about the same length apart, etc. Fun to have those connections with someone π
Aliesha Caldwell says
We really do have a lot in common, Natalie!
Deepa says
Hi Aliesha, I’m probably live the farthest away from you…. all the way across the world in Chennai, India. I’ve been reading your blog from day 1 too. I came here from Drea’s blog. I love almost everything about your blog. Your recipes look fun but I struggle with finding most of the ingredients.
hmm… one fun fact about me? Let’s see… my ancestors were converted to Christianity by Thomas… yes Doubting Thomas!!
Aliesha Caldwell says
That is SO cool, Deepa! Thanks for being a faithful reader for all these years! π
