Vera never took a pacifier, but she has always been a thumb-sucker. I think we saw her sucking her thumb on one of her ultrasounds! I think it’s adorable!

I have a thumb sucker as well!! I also think it is so cute how much comfort they get from their thumbs. However it is not quite as cute once they get older. My son is nearly 3 years old….I’m not sure how to get him to stop. He usually only sucks his thumb to fall asleep or sometimes to comfort himself when he is upset. I’m hoping I can get him weaned from his thumb before he is off to school-ha!

I sucked my thumb til I was 5 π I remember how much I loved it, and it was a very hard habit to break! Of course, the thing that finally helped me quit, was the promise of a Cabbage Patch doll.

I was a thumb sucker…. it’s a LOT harder to break from the thumb than the paci π Seriously, BRACES forced me to stop… no bribes worked! And i”m NOT telling how old I was when I got braces!!
But it’s soo much cuter!!

I sucked my thumb until I was 12!!!! and honestly still have tendencies where I still would want to do that. Crazy huh? I have a friend whos in her 30’s and still does!
I had to get braces because of it and my dad told me if I sucked my thumb id owe him 4,000 to fix my teeth again, so I stopped. But boy was it hard!
still, vera is mighty cute right now π
