At my appointment earlier this week, I asked my midwife how much she thought our baby girl weighs, since so many people have been asking me. Her best estimate (which could be off) was between 6 and 6.5 pounds. She doesn’t think she will be more than 7.5 when she is born. Baby girl still appears to be head-down and her heartbeat is strong. She is still active as ever!
I had three different women tell me separately on Wednesday night that I looked like I had “dropped” or was carrying lower than I was on Sunday. I definitely feel lower and more like I’m waddling!
I’ve been cramping a lot this week, so I trust that is a very good thing! When I wake up my abdominal muscles hurt (like after a good Pilates workout), so I know I’m cramping during the night. I’ve been timing these cramps/contractions, but they don’t seem to be getting much stronger or closer together at this point. My lower back also hurts a good bit, which I think can also be a sign that labor is drawing near.
Hoping that labor begins naturally really soon! I went bowling tonight (youth group outing), so hopefully that will have helped speed up the process! I also read that eating pineapple (which I loooove) can help naturally induce labor, so I ate a can of pineapple chunks today.Andrea took this picture of me at the bowling alley. I’m holding a six-pound ball… the same weight as our baby!
i definitely think you have popped since last week! : ) You look great! I can’t wait for baby girl to join the world!
beautiful! I remember carrying watermelons and papayas close to me, trying to imagine what my baby would feel like.
When my contractions began (at 4:45am) they felt more like braxton hicks than real contractions. Although I was 1cm dialated, I didnt have any pain until about 10am. So pay close attention to any sign.
ooooh! I cant wait to see pictures of baby girl and to find out what you’ve named her.
fun! It’s amazing that week 39 is here:)
I’ve heard the pineapple idea before, but we have a friend who ate pineapple to bring on labor and it only caused contractions w/ no labor π It’s very yummy though!!
I love hearing the midwives guesses and then comparing them to how much baby actually weighs. They were off by one ounce with Nate;)
Rest up and we look forward to hearing about your delivery soon;)
Wow! I am totally impressed that you went bowling :-). Hopefully little miss will decide that it’s a great week to be born! Always checking in here in case of updates! Happy weekend to you…
You look fabulous! I can’t believe how quickly your pregnancy seemed to fly by, lol! I’ve heard the pineapple thing too, but I always thought it had to be fresh pineapple. I could be wrong though.
I was out of town all last week and without internet, so I’m just now seeing this post. I’m sure you are so ready to have your little girl here! I can’t wait to see pictures! π I am praying for you as you prepare and go through labor and delivery.
I did the pineapple thing- I heard that it was a fresh pineapple core, so when I was 4 days overdue with Lily I ate the entire core of a pineapple in the morning and I had Lily at 8 that evening. I’ll never know if it was the pineapple that put me into labor or if it was just time for her to come π
