Pretty much anytime I shop online, I check for a coupon code for that specific retailer! It’s always fun to save a little more off the already good online prices!
(By the way, one of the reasons I’m a big proponent of online shopping is because it helps me spend less money than I would in a store, since touching soft and/or pretty things in a store is a lot more tantalizing than just looking at pictures online!)
I used to just Google “Store name coupon code,” but now I have found a great one-stop-shop for coupons from online retailers! It’s called Groupon Coupons. You all know what Groupon is, right? That amazing place where you can score discounted restaurant gift cards, movie tickets, museum passes, and more. Groupon Coupons launched recently and they have a great variety of online stores that I shop at regularly.
Here are a few retailers you may also enjoy shopping at:
–Target (including Save $5 off $50)
–Shutterfly (really great coupons ending soon)
–Amazon (I feel like it’s rare to see an Amazon coupon, but there are some ending soon!)
–Best Buy
–JCPenney (including 15% off sitewide)
–Kohl’s
–Home Depot
-and sooooo many more!
Hope you enjoy using Groupon Coupons to save money while shopping online!

I’ve read a lot about people using online coupons and all the benefits of them. I tried using them for a brief period of time. After that, my computer was so loaded with and riddled with viruses and malware it was slowed to a crawl and then became unusable. My husband, who is a software engineer and consultant, told me all the online coupon sites, ads, whatever, are embedded with malware and when you click on them to get coupons, the malware and viruses get onto your computer and over time multiply and grow until they have wrecked your computer. Since he is a computer expert, I didn’t have to haul my computer to town to get it cleaned off and restored. However, he spent an entire day (rather than earning money working) cleaning off all that junk and getting my computer usable again. I promised never ever to click on coupons again. And I didn’t. Then, we went on a trip and his mom came to watch the kids while we were gone. She is a coupon fanatic, and she used my computer to get coupons and print them. Not too long after that, my computer started slowing down, and then eventually was so ridden with malware and viruses again, that my husband had to repeat the day-long process of cleaning off the junk and restoring my computer. I have not clicked a single coupon since, and we haven’t had that malware and virus problem since that time. I don’t know how anyone else can use online coupons. I just know that the hundreds of dollars we lost on those two days of him cleaning my computer rather than working for his paying customers was not worth any amount of coupons I printed.

Hi Sally,
My husband is a computer technician and frequently removes malware from computers.
According to him, the Groupon coupon site is fine because it is not downloading anything to your computer (like a plugin or a toolbar). The sites that are downloading toolbars and plugins to your computer (such as coupons.com, etc.) are often either delivering advertisements to you or tracking browsing habits. At a minimum these extensions should be disabled when not printing coupons, or not installed at all (which you’ve chosen to do).
Make sure that you read fine print on websites because they will mention that they are tracking your browsing habits or whatnot.
Also, be aware of a current scam right now that looks like an email from Groupon instructing you to download coupons. This is not legitimate. Groupon Coupon does not require you to download anything (and it is not a coupon printer like many of the other sites are).
So sorry you’ve had trouble with malware! We know how damaging that can be to computers!

Thanks for the information. I’m glad there are ways to use online coupons without creating serious computer problems! I’ve always wondered how other people made it work.

After your experience, I completely understand why you’d steer clear!
