Today we went to a “bird zoo,” for lack of a better term. It’s located about 50 minutes from our house, but we have never been before.
The girls loved it, and it was a perfect day, weather-wise, so we all enjoyed spending time together as a family.
They have this neat exhibit called the “Landing Zone” where you can purchase a feeding stick and let the birds land on you! It was so fun.
You could even feed pink flamingos right out of your hand!
Vera was extremely nervous about the birds at first. She kept saying that they were going to “get her”!
But she eventually warmed up to the birds a little bit and chased them with her feeding stick. When one would land on her stick, though, she got scared again!
Cordelia would just giggle when birds would land near her!
This bird stayed on my stick/hand for a while! It was so pretty!
I had five birds on me at once, but there are only three in this picture.
The girls enjoyed riding in their stroller during the rest of the trip. We saw lots of exhibits!
We even saw some bees.
Lots of birds…
We made lots of memories as a family today!
So thankful for opportunities like this to enjoy God’s beautiful creation while spending time together!
that is so cool! my kids would love to visit a place like that!
What a neat place! Looks like tons of fun!
I was blessed with the gift of flight!
No, it looked like a lot of fun!
Looks like a lovely visit:)And we call it a “bird zoo” too! Sounds like they’ve added more exhibits since we’ve last visited:)
The “Landing Zone” where you can feed the birds is a new exhibit as of this spring. 🙂
That looked so fun! love the pics.
